Swimming with Sharks!

If you could go eye to eye with sharks, would you do it?

I took the plunge, and couldn’t believe how many different shark species I got to see underwater while swimming with sharks! Below is a snippet of my experience!

Something that surprised me was learning that humans are more of a danger to sharks that they are to us- we actually lose 10,000 sharks an hour, mostly due to overfishing. So if you eat seafood, please choose sustainable options to help our shark friends!

If you’re interested in getting up close and personal with sharks, anyone over the age of 8 can actually do this at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma! No diving or swimming experience necessary.

Hi! I you’re looking for some things to do if you visit Seattle during the summer in 2024, I’ve got you covered!

Here’s what to do:

Take a ferry around Washington! Vashon Island is a quick ferry ride from West Seattle, and Bainbridge and Whidbey Island are options as well! Have less time? Take the Water Taxi from downtown Seattle to Alki Beach in West Seattle. Anytime I have the option to take a ferry, I do it!

Cool down with a sweet treat like Hellenika Cultured Gelato at Pike Place Market! They’ll let you taste some of their flavors and they are so creative and out of control delicious. Cultured gelato has a kind of Greek yogurt tartness (so it’s healthy, right? Right!) and the siblings running this place are super kind!

Space Needle: See what this iconic landmark is all about. Be sure to go up to the observation deck! It’s an unparalleled 360 degree view with a rotating floor!

I also climbed the stairs to the top of the Space Needle for a good cause!
